Films are accepted globally, from any genre, including features, shorts, documentaries and animations, which have at least one key creative (writer/director/producer) who is of Persian speaking background.  Details for entries for the 2nd Persian International Film Festival are below.

Entries now open for the 2013 festival.  Deadline for submission is 30th of January 2013.

  • Application form must be filled in completely.
  • DVDs included should be PAL only. The title, screening format and running time must be clearly labelled on the cover. Submitted copies will not be returned.
  • All selected entries should include a press kit, which would include a high quality trailer of the film, high quality images, and biographical information. If your film is selected for screening you must provide a press kit.
  • All films that are in a language other than English must be SUBTITLED in English. If selected for screening, no film will be considered without proper English subtitling where needed.
  • Submission of films does not guarantee screening, as films are subjected to a selection screening.
  • Entries should reach Persian International office no later than 30th January, 2013.
  • Entrants will be notified if their films have been selected, and may be invited for a Q&A session at the Festival.
  • One of the KEY CREATIVES (writer/director/producer) must be from a Persian background.
  • Films can be in any genre (drama, documentary, animation, experimental).
  • Film length should follow these guidelines: short films should be no longer than 30 minutes, feature films should be a minimum of 60 minutes, animations should be no longer than 120 minutes, and documentaries submitted should be no longer than 3 hours.
  • Films must be original and the sender must hold copyright to the entire contents, including model, textures, footage, screenplay, and soundtrack and violates no breach of copyright.
  • Once films are accepted for screening Persian International Film Festival holds the rights to the use of publicity material (including stills, images, excerpts, quotes) from the film to be used for promotional material produced such as media releases, articles, radio and television, websites, sponsors and partners websites and promotional material, festival programs, video and photographic documentation, posters, fliers, and any other material produced / printed / screened / displayed and used for the purpose of promoting the film.
  • All costs for insurance and shipping of submission materials to the Festival are the responsibility of the sender.
  • The Festival is not responsible for any customs clearances or duty charges resulting from the import of materials.
  • The Festival cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to submitted materials incurred in shipping.
  • The Festival cannot accept responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed.
  • The Festival is not responsible for the return costs of submitted materials.
  • Preview DVDs will not be returned.
  • Submitted press materials will not be returned.
